Christian Fellowship9

We've been living here in England for over 12 years now. We always enjoy good Christian Fellowship. This is something many Christians here really lacked.

We were invited at one of our church members home today for a birthday party of their son. We had excellent time celebrating with them their son's 2 birthday.

It also was good to see some old friends that we've not seen for sometime. They came up from near Oxford. I enjoyed talk computer talk with Bro. Tim. You know how us guys like to talk about the latest gadget that has come out.

The children had a real good time playing together during the afternoon. What do you expect when 9 kids playing together. They were really good.

Of course we celebrating Baptist style. We had plenty of good food.

Until next time

Fight Before Christmas

'Twas the fight before Christmas when all through the houseNot a good deed was stirring, and Dad was a louse!Their mother was angry and loaded with care,'Cause the gift list was longer than ever this year!

The children were nagging for gifts worth a ton,And Dad was convinced, "Christmas just isn't fun!"With Mom's loud complaining, and Dad mad at all,They loaded the car for the trip to the mall!

They stopped first at Sears to buy Grandma a platter,At Wards Sis tried on jeans that confirmed she was fatter! They stopped at the ATM for some more cash,And saw their new neighbors with THEIR Christmas stash!

Hearts sank as they saw what their neighbors could spend,"We've got to buy more!" everybody chimed in!When, what to their shopping red eyes should appear,But a sign with the answer to their Christmas fear.

"Use credit, use VISA, use MasterCard,Just run up their limits, it's not very hard!"More rapid than eagles, the charges, they cameAnd they whistled and shouted and called them by name.
Now Nordstroms, now K-Mart, now Price Club and Kinneys,To Broadway, to Target, we'll finish at Penney's!To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall,Their packages piled up; they'd OUT-BOUGHT THEM ALL!!

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,When they meet with an obstacle mount to the sky,So flew away hope of a Christmas of joys,Not a problem was changed by the gifts and the toys.

And then, in a twinkling, Dad knew without doubt,They needed to know, "What is Christmas about?" That night in a dream he saw Bethlehem town,And a babe in a manger with thorns for a crown!

And then what Dad saw brought the tears like a flood,Christ's back was all tarnished where lashes brought blood.A rugged old cross was His tortuous rack,As He shifted it's weight to His now bleeding back.

His eyes, filled with burdens, 'twas nothing there merry,The thorns had no roses, the night became eerie. His dry thirsty mouth was drawn thin like a bow,And the beard of His chin was plucked out cruelly, and slow.

The cross on His back held him high in His shame,And the soldiers encircled His death with a game.He had a kind face, in His eyes none saw hate,And He shook when they laughed at His horrible fate.

He was dying for me, took my sins on Himself,And I wept when I saw Him, in spite of myself. A look in His eye, and the twist of His head,Soon gave me to know, I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to His work; And He took all my sin, and then turned with a jerk."It is finished," He said. Death He willingly chose,Then GLORY TO GOD, from the grave He arose!!

Dad sprang from his bed, shouting what Christmas gives."It's not all the gifts, but that Jesus now LIVES!"So you'll hear them exclaim, on their next Christmas night,Happy Christmas to all,WHO WILL KEEP CHRISTMAS RIGHT!!

We thank the Lord for giving us a wonderful thanksgiving with some of our missionary friends here in England. Even though we are 4,000 miles from our family and home church we can enjoy the blessings of the Lord as we serve the Lord. How we have so much to be thankful!

Good Day

We had a wonderful time of Christian fellowship with our church people today. We started the day out with doing some outreach in the town centre of Kettering. It sure was cold out there giving out tracts but praise the Lord we had some people take them while they were out Christmas shopping.

Then we headed to the house and Tammy had pizza, chicken wings, salad for all of us to eat. Tammy really out did her self on the chicken wings. They were so good. We've been trying to be good since we have our next weigh in at Weight Watcher on Monday night.

After we were full then we try to sing and practice for choir. We had practice on a number of songs that we'll be singing for specials during the month of December. We enjoy the good Christian fellowship.

Tonight we're expecting to have some snow. At the minute it's 28 degrees. We'll see if we have some snow in the morning.

We're praying that God will give us a wonderful Lord's Day tomorrow at church.

Praying children get feeling better

The kids not been feeling well since Saturday. Caleb was the first one coming down poorly. So Tammy had to stay home with him on Sunday. We just can't his fever to break. Then Sunday Rebekah and I was on the way to church and I noticed that she wasn't acting right. She didn't say anything on the way to church. That is not her at all. She usually talking your head off!

So during church she just wasn't right. Then on the way home she was sleeping all the way back home. She got home and changed and went straight to bed. She had a fever now. As the day went on they both starting getting high fevers.

Today the fever has gone down some. We're praying they will get feeling better. They not been able to have school since they been poorly.

It's been interesting week so far for Tammy.

My gout has been acting up all at the sametime.

But all is not bad. Last night at Weight Watchers I lost 6 lbs and Tammy lost 1 1/2 lbs. Praise the Lord. We are so excited about the results. We're praying the Lord will continue to help us. I've lost 11 lbs in the last 3 weeks.

Need to get going for the day. Need to get some outreach done today going door to door in Kettering for the church.

We left the house on Friday and drove over to Leicester. We had lunch at the kids' favorite place MCDONALD'S! Then after we ate we went bowling!
